MARRIED LIFE: 3 Years & Counting

Last fall we got the idea to do a wedding anniversary photo/video series inspired by Disney Pixar's UP! We embarked on a lifelong project where once a year we will add a balloon to represent each year of our marriage and take them to a place that was special to us that year.
"Up" is a special love story and most people think of the movie as sad because it makes them cry within the first 5 minutes, which is true, but we see it as a beautiful story of love and life, the UPS and the downs and all the special moments in between.
To represent the 1st and 2nd years of our married life in Sweden we chose two special locations which you can read more about HERE.
In this, the 3rd year of our married life, we moved from Sweden to America! It was a little tricky to pick a location as we have only lived in California for less than half a year.
We picked the Founders' Park of Anaheim as our special 3 year location since we are Anaheim residents now, Lindsay's family is originally from this city, and this special spot even has some unique Disney history!
It's so special to see another balloon added to this lifelong project and to see how far (literally) we've come! Beginning our marriage in Sweden was such an adventure and now we're on a new one that has brought us to America to follow our dreams!
Just like Carl & Ellie in the movie "Up" we love living this lifetime of adventure together wherever that may take us and it's thrilling to think that right now we have no idea where we will take the photos/videos in the coming years but that's all part of the fun in living this adventure together!
Imagine what this project will look like in 25 years...and imagine with 50 balloons!

FALL FUN in SOCAL! (November 2015)

November is a funny month because it feels like fall and winter are fighting for their share of the month.
The weather in California (compared to Sweden where we were last November) started finally feeling like a proper fall but the Christmas decorations and music seem to creep in earlier each year.
Disneyland got us feeling the Christmas spirit the week after Halloween! Speaking of Halloween, Lindsay had the fun opportunity do a YouTube video ride through of the Haunted Mansion Holiday which will be on Walt's Classic's channel soon!
The autumn feelings came back when visited Oak Glen which is famous for it's apples...
...and even though we missed picking season it was so lovely to see some of the last gorgeous fall foliage...
...and it being the week before Thanksgiving, we were delighted to see the last plump pumpkins of the season and indian corn.
Riley's Rarm and Los Rios are our favorite ranches to visit and always brings back loads of childhood memories for Lindsay and her family.
We finally got to film our Married Life video for the year and we chose the beautiful victorian house in Downtown Anaheim which we though perfectly represented this year of our married life adventures since we moved to Anaheim this year!
Towards the end of the month we were delightfully surprised to find out there was a Swedish Christmas market in Huntington Beach at the Old World Village.
It was very authentic and there was even other Swedes that Jonas got to talk to. Though heading into the holiday season has mixed emotions for us it was really nice experience and of course we'll carry on with the Swedish Christmas traditions that have become such a special part of our marriage no matter where we live.
How was your Thanksgiving? As we said in the video, we are so thankful for all of YOU who came along with us on our adventures through life!

Oh, OCTOBER! The most wonderful month of the year!!! The last few autumns were spent in Sweden where yes the weather truly feels like fall, but it was nice to spend our birthday month again in the land of pumpkin everything!
Speaking of pumpkins...Jonas' first job in America was working as an illustrator and carver at the Rise of the Jack O' Lanterns!
If you didn't already see the photos and video we posted of The Rise, you can see that HERE!
For many "Back to the Future" fans, October 2015 was a monumental month and we went to the Puente Hills Mall (or as its known in the film "Twin Pines Mall") and got to the famous mall sign and Doc Brown's car where he first tried time travel...this was EPIC!
Another wonderfully special thing that happened this month was Jonas' first art show! He had 2 of his fairytale art pieces displayed at the Black Umbrella Tattoo & Art Gallery! This was a dream come true, and the best is yet to come!
Since we hadn't been in California in the fall for some time it was SO special to do some old-fashioned American autumn activities like going to a pumpkin patch!
And of course one of the very best things about Southern California in the fall is...HALLOWEEN TIME at DISNEYLAND!!! So naturally, we had to do a Jack & Sally DisneyBound for the occasion!
On Lindsay's YouTube channel you can follow Lindsay around Disneyland while she shows you her favorite parts of fall time at the happiest place on earth, which you can watch HERE!
The last week of October is always wonderfully chaotic as we celebrate both our birthdays AND Halloween! Lindsay's family treated us to Kurios by Cirque du Soleil and it was the most fantastical and bizarre circus experience we've ever seen! We loved the steampunk vibe and the fact that it was in a big top made it 10 times more amazing!
Then came...HALLOWEEN!!! Jonas had never seen trick or treating before and so we had to go to downtown Fullerton where this historic street of beautiful houses looks like a it's out of Hocus Pocus!
Speaking of Hocus Pocus, don't forget to check out our friend Traci Hines' music video cover of "I Put A Spell On You" which we made an appearance in as some of the trick or treaters!
And speaking of witches, we had another wonderful opportunity this month of collaborating with Dappsy again to make a vintage style Wicked Witch paper moon, which you can see the behind the scenes of HERE!
We are so thankful for one of best October's we've ever had that was full of pumpkins, witches, and Halloween magic and we hope you enjoy following along with us on our adventures in the video below! Did you have a good October? Did you dress up for Halloween?
Now, we wonder what November will hold...

COME ONE COME ALL to see more than 5,000 hand-carved illuminated jack o' lanterns light up the night this October in New York, Los Angeles, and San Diego is the most unique and iconic family friendly fall event, RISE of the Jack O' Lanterns
The pumpkins are arranged in creative ways along a 1/3-mile scenic walking trail all set to an original music score produced exclusively for The RISE!
Jonas is one of the artists that has been apart of an amazing talented team that brought this event to life!
He illustrated the Descanso Gardens logo, Star Wars, Inside Out, and the Jack & Sally pumpkins you see below!
It was the most magical experience to see the finished product of Jonas and the team's hard work... see the jack o' lantern displays illuminated in the dark was unlike anything we've ever seen before!
The Cinderella pumpkin IN a pumpkin coach was a very cute touch!
The dinosaurs were so impressive!
We had to keep reminding ourselves that these displays are made up of thousands of pumpkins!!! This chinese dragon for example glows so beautifully...
...and this tiger looks like it has actual fur, incredible!
This day of the dead skull was a favorite!
We highly recommend attending The Rise while it goes through all October! It is something we shall never forget and will forever be grateful to be apart of!

Our 3 Year Wedding Anniversary! (SEPTEMBER 2015)

September will always hold such a special place in our hearts since our DREAM COME TRUE wedding was on September 22, 2012. We had a fun month filled with adventures and celebrating our 3 year wedding anniversary!
We kicked off the month with a spooky adventure with our friend Nina where we explored the Founders' Park in Downtown Anaheim.
We can never get enough of exploring historic Victorian houses...
...and this park holds 2 of the oldest ones in Anaheim!
An extra special thing on the property is this massive fig tree that has some Disney history to it, which you can see more of HERE! (Coming Soon)
Then we went to Rogers Gardens in Corona Del Mar because we had heard about their amazing Halloween Boutique they do every year, this year's theme was a creepy carnival!
Even the rest of the place has enchanting decor and beautiful plants all year round!
For us there's nothing better than being at the happiest place on earth during the best time of the year!
 A beautiful sunset over Fantasyland...
For our 3 year wedding anniversary we got to spend a few nights in the charming mountain village of Idyllwild.
It rained the day we went up there and it was such a breath of fresh air to be away from the city for a few days and enjoy the misty mountains.
We stayed at the charming Strawberry Creek Inn B&B which we would highly recommend!
The mountain village is small and quaint with lots of pretty details to look at.
As Jonas pointed out, every mountain village has a fudge candy store, and he was right! He's learning the American ways!
We went on a hike through a beautiful manzanita tree forest...
the rich tones of the bark and twisted branches was unlike anything we've ever seen before!
We accidentally wound up on a one of the more difficult hiking paths, and while we could hardly  breath we stood in awe of this view when we came to this lookout point. It felt very symbolic as we reflected on the last 3 years of our married life, all the twists and turns...this road we travel together is jagged and challenging but full of adventure!
If you've been following along with us since the start or are just joining in, we want to say THANK YOU for your love and support as we share the adventures of our married life!
