Making of the Jack-O'-Lantern Paper Moon

We are so thrilled to be able to share the behind the scenes and outcome of our DREAM COME TRUE collaboration with DAPPSY!!!
This was an idea in the making for almost 2 years ever since the first time we modeled on one of their fantastic paper moons in an orange grove. We absolutely loved working with Victoria & Chris before (the wonderfully talented husband & wife team behind Dappsy) and we were so inspired by the idea of collaborating with them again when we moved to California. So was born... the "Moonlight Magic Collection" a series of one-of-a-kind specialty moons hand painted by Jonas!
In the video (below) we show more of the process and how all of us used our skills to make the Jack-O'-Lantern Paper Moon come to life! First we looked at some vintage Halloween illustrations and with our own imagination Jonas drew up a sketch of the happy harvest moon and we sent it to the Paper Moon Shoppe headquarters where they cut out, painted, and assembled the moon.
Then Jonas got to work on painting the face and craters while Lindsay started gathering props for the set design and putting the outfits together. Jonas also hand cut and painted the bats you see on the barn wall.
The day of the photo shoot was a very hot day but we still had fun putting the set together and Victoria took shoots of Samantha and Erin but we waited to do the rest of the shoot until night fell.
Victoria did a wonderful job on the photos as well as being the amazing coordinator of all this! It's such a dream to see our Halloween moon come to life and couldn't be more please with the outcome from our mutual labor of love and collaboration with DAPPSY!
This one of a kind happy harvest moon is currently available on ETSY + more paper moons on Make sure to follow DAPPSY on their social media to be notified of more paper moon adventures, because this is only the beginning...the best is yet to come!
